Dr. Livingstone, I presume… at 200

IMG_0486 (960x1280)Thanks Gene for pointing out an excellent article about a book describing Dr. Livingstone, famous for walking back and forth across Africa, identifying Victoria Falls to the outside world, missing the impassable Cabora Bassa cataracts on the Zambezi River which prevent navigation to the interior and who was somewhat less than thoughtful regarding his wife and children.

Kathy’s Smilebox, Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge

Smilebox_2088936279Richard and Kathy, Gene and Rachel finished their southern African travels at the Imbabala Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe, located on the bank of the Zambezi River about 70 km (45 m.) upstream of Victoria Falls.  River cruises and land drives showed them impala, warthogs, elephants, Kudu, monitor lizards, crocodiles, hippos and bush bucks.  As you will see in Kathy’s Smilebox, this safari lodge is a nice spot to stay.
